Based on their extensive experience with self retracting lifelines, their proven legacy of reliability and dependability, and their comprehensive instructions and labeling, DBI/SALA has issued a new recertification policy.

ALL DBI/SALA and Protecta self retracting lifelines manufactured or serviced after January 1, 2003 do not require factory recertification.

Units manufactured or serviced prior to January 1, 2003 will be covered by the new policy guidelines after the next recertification.

Note: This policy does NOT apply to Canada because CSA Z259.2.2-98 requires annual recertification for mechanical products.

This new policy is user friendly, hassle-free, and keeps the devices on the job for increased productivity and lower overall cost of ownership.

As a bonus, DBI/SALA will also continue with their "Free Recertification" program for those customers who want to send in their registered self retracting lifelines for recertification.

DBI/SALA recognizes that many customers want to continue with a regularly scheduled recertification – so they make it easy with the free recertification program and their first rate repair services.

Users will now have three basic levels of inspection to perform:

  1. A "Before Use" inspection (as required by OSHA and ANSI).
  2. Annually a formal inspection by a competent person (as required by ANSI). This competent person is typically an end user employee.
  3. After fall arrest, and inspection and possible servicing by an authorized service center.

No factory recertification required. Click here for details.
