2011 Report to the Membership discussed at ISEA annual meeting
The International Safety Equipment Association's (ISEA's) President Dan Shipp presented his annual Report to the Membership at the ISEA Executive Summit in San Antonio that took place April 29 to May 1, 2012. His discussion included the association's activities in standardization, government relations, marketing, and communications in 2011.
Last year, ISEA saw a resurgence in membership growth, which helped the organization accomplish a number of tasks. The 2011 report highlights a number of these accomplishments. Last year, ISEA published revisions to its American National Standards for the selection of various safety products, including hand protection and high-visibility public safety vests.
ISEA also continued to lead the way by organizing a personal protective equipment (PPE) presentation. The organization hosted a "PPE Solutions from ISEA Experts" forum at the National Safety Council Expo in Philadelphia, giving presentations on conformity assessment for PPE, fall protection, hearing protection, and respiratory protection.
The ISEA's mission is to help and support the shared business interests of its member companies, and to protect the health and safety all workers around the world. Accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), ISEA also develops standards for a wide variety of PPE.
