June is National Safety Month

Every June during National Safety Month, workplaces and organizations place special emphasis on the importance of safety, both at home and at work.

The National Safety Council (NSC) is highlighting a different safety topic for each week:

  • Week 1: Stand up to Falls
Tip: Reduce slips and falls by cleaning up spills immediately and include warning signs if needed
  • Week 2: Recharge to Be in Charge
Tip: Get 7-9 hours of sleep every day
  • Week 3: Prepare for Active Shooters
Tip: Always be aware of your environment, and locate the nearest two exits in any place you visit
  • Week 4: Don’t Just Sit There
Tip: Work comfortably in a chair with proper lumbar and arm support with feet flat on the ground or on a foot rest

Working together to prevent accidents, injuries, and deaths during National Safety Month and emphasizing how important it is to be safe and to work safely brings great benefits to all.
