These boots were very comfortable right out of the box. They were waterproof until the sole started to deteriorate. The upper is a little bulky at the top. Unfortunately, these boots only lasted me around 9 months working as a conductor and yard switchman. The rubber sole is molded around foam and eventually wore out at the ball of the foot. The rubber began to separate from the foam midsole. They were very comfortable like well worn tennis shoes until the day I threw them away. I couldn't really tell they were safety toe either. Good boot, short life span,
