Uncomfortable Heat transfer with a 500 degree cast iron double cooker while making sourdough bread

I finally had an opportunity to use my new gloves today. I have been so excited to finally have something that I thought would work with my cast iron double cooker that has to be heated to 500 degrees in order for my sourdough bread to be properly baked. I even got on the site’s chat to make sure that these would work with a 500 degree temperature before I purchased them and I was told that they would, so I didn’t give it much thought as I was taking the pre-heated cooker out of the oven, but there was an uncomfortable amount of heat transfer through the gloves. Placing the cooker, with the dough, back into the 500 degree oven there was even more heat transfer through the gloves. 20 minutes into the baking of the loaf the top of the cooker has to be removed. This time the heat transfer was so bad that I thought that I had burned my hand. It was very, very uncomfortable. I must say that I am very disappointed as I really thought that I had found something that would ensure I could enjoy my hobby and not be uncomfortable when working with the cast iron cooker at high temperatures. The gloves are really well made, but if you are planning on using these for cast iron baking at 500 degrees, I will just say that the gloves did not work for me and I do not plan on using them again. Once burned, twice shy. I can not comment on any other function the gloves may serve as I only used them for baking.
