Alliance between OSHA, Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry renewed
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced on March 5, 2012, that it has renewed its alliance with the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry (PCBI) to continue providing PCBI members and their employees with information, guidance, and access to workplace safety and health training courses.
"Renewing our alliance with the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry affords us the opportunity to further our efforts to reduce and prevent worker exposure to hazards predominantly associated with general industry," said Kevin Kilp, director of OSHA's Harrisburg Area Office. "We look forward to continuing our positive impact on workers and safety and health professionals."
The alliance was first forged in March 2004, and has since enabled OSHA and the PA Chamber to provide safety and health presentations to about 2,500 workers in general industry and safety and health professionals in the Harrisburg area. With the renewed agreement, these resources will be available to professionals across the state.
PCBI is one of many organizations across the country involved in OSHA's Alliance Program, which works to prevent workplace fatalities, injuries, and illnesses. As a part of the program, participants learn ways to keep employees safe and the proper use of industry-specific safety products, such as hard hats, safety glasses, and work gloves.
